Nocppo logs 46 robbery cases in 6 months

BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here disclosed that a total of 46 robbery cases were reported in the province from January to June 2022.

Police Lieutenant Judesses Catalogo, officer-in-charge public information officer of Nocppo, said that perpetrators behind these incidents were not part of an organized crime group.

“Dugay na na dismantle ang organized group sa province through the efforts of Nocppo,” he added.

Based on the record of Nocppo, May has the highest recorded robbery incidents with 11, followed by June with 10, March with 9, February and April with six cases each, and January with 4.

Catalogo said that most of the robbers were new and are targeting delivery trucks of groceries and other goods.

Lean months is also a factor that could contribute to the increase of robbery incidents in the province.

However, police considered these incidents as isolated cases.
