BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) is conducting a separate investigation on the attack against one of its personnel here over the weekend.

Police Colonel Romy Palgue, Nocppo’s officer-in-charge, said on Thursday night, that Police Staff Sergeant Miguel Perez asked for his help in investigating the ambush at Barangay Estefania here on June 7.

Perez survived after unidentified suspects riddled his car with bullets from an M16 rifle.

The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), particularly Police Station 4, is probing the incident and is looking into job-related and grudge as possible angles behind the attack.

Perez is assigned to the Provincial Legal Services in Nocppo headquarters here.

During his visit to the hospital, Palgue said the 43-year-old victim told him many possible angles which may have triggered the incident, but he refused to elaborate further about it in the meantime.

“We will let you know if we have confirmation about it,” he added.

Palgue said that Perez, who suffered a lone gunshot wound in the left shoulder, was already discharged from the hospital.
