BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here has recorded one more active case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among its personnel.
Police Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, Nocppo’s deputy information officer, said the patient was a non-commissioned officer assigned at a police station in the central part of the province.
Donasco said the policeman underwent the mandatory swab testing sponsored by their local government unit, and results came out on March 21, indicating that he tested positive of the virus.
Donasco said the cop may have acquired the virus through local transmission.
He is currently in a quarantine facility while contact tracing is ongoing.
Donasco said as of March 24, Nocppo has recorded a total of 43 COVID cases among its personnel, but 42 others have already recovered.
