Nominees named for UP Baguio Chancellorship

Two nominees for the chancellorship of the University of the Philippines Baguio were named in an official announcement by the Search Committee for the Next Chancellor of UP Baguio released, 4 February 2021. The nominees are Dr. Corazon L. Abansi and Atty. Maria Georgina A. Alvarez. The search process for the next chancellor of the University of the Philippines Baguio commenced in view of the end of term of Chancellor Raymundo D. Rovillos on 13 April 2021.

In the Announcement of Nominees for Chancellorship of UP Baguio, the Search Committee made known that letters of support and questions for the nominees will be accepted until 15 February 2021. Letters of support may be sent via email to 2021search.upbaguio@up.edu.ph or given to any of the members of the Search Committee. In addition, a drop box will be made available at the UP Baguio Lobby for written statements and questions. The names and signatures of those writing the statements and questions are required to be included in these documents.

The announcement also outlined the updated schedule of activities of the search process, including the upcoming public forum on Monday, 15 February 2021, 01:00 p.m.-04:00 p.m. via virtual Zoom Meeting and with satellite venues at the UP Baguio campus (Sarmiento Hall, UP Baguio Lobby, CSS Audio-Visial Room, and Teatro Amianan). The public forum will hold the state of the University address by Chancellor Raymundo D. Rovillos, the presentation of the vision papers of the nominees, and an open forum. The schedule includes consultations with various sectors on different dates.
