Nonito Donaire Jr. confirmed through his social media account that they will be pulling out of the mega-fight against fellow Filipino Johnriel Casimero.
Just a week after their fight announcement, an early social media tussle took place that went out of control regarding certain issues both camps were firing at each other.
Donaire’s camp highlighted the 24/7 VADA (Voluntary-Anti Doping Association) testing which they think the opposing camp refused to comply with.
“That being said, as we’ve stated before, we cancelled this fight when they delayed turning in the VADA paperwork for 5 days,” Donaire tweeted.
The Donaire camp also backed up their claims with proof that the Casimero camp was dishonest regarding the VADA information for the fight to push through.
“After we cancelled the fight, then and only then did the paperwork suddenly appear. I do what I say. And as much as I want to knock him out, I’m going to take the high road and instead of highlighting his misbehaviors, I’m not going to give his example the stage or the payday that comes with it,” Donaire continued in his post.
Earlier, the Casimero camp and promoter Sean Gibbons of the MP (Manny Pacquiao) Promotions engaged in a word war with Nonito’s wife and manager Rachel.
Following the exchange, Donaire tackled the disrespect of women and children and his stand against the misogynistic culture in his long tweet.
On the other hand, the Casimero camp said that they still haven’t received the final decision from their promoters regarding the scrapping of the fight.
