The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) again warned the public against text scams.

NTC-6 Director Engr. Nestor Antonio Monroy said text messages circulated early this month announcing that the message recipient won more than half a million pesos from AIM Global, Inc. purportedly sponsored by Senator Bong Go.

“If you receive this kind of text message or of similar content, especially if sent thru regular cellphone numbers having an 11-digit number, do not entertain the same,” Monroy said.

He also urged them to save the cell phone number that sent such message and report it to the NTC Regional Office at Brgy. Quintin Salas, Jaro, lloilo City or call telephone numbers (033) 320-2251 or (033) 506-5353.

Monroy is also soliciting the help of the media to inform and educate the public and curb this kind of scam that has victimized a number of individuals already. (JBG/PIA6)
