The NXLED Chameleons aren’t done making their Premier Volleyball League (PVL) off-season moves despite the holiday season after acquiring outside hitter Ivy Lacsina before 2023 ended.

NXLED shocked the whole volleyball community after announcing the arrival of Lacsina via a social media post in their official handles.

“Welcome to the Nxled Chameleons, Ivy Lacsina! When we said that we are going to get stronger next season, this is what we meant. Now, let’s get started,” wrote NXLED.

Lacsina became one of the members of the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers who quickly turned into free agents following the disbandment of their PVL franchise last month.

In a shocking statement issued by the F2 Logistics franchise, the Efren Uy-owned company confirmed that they already disbanded their PVL team, the Cargo Movers, last December 12, 2023.

After several failed campaigns since moving to the PVL from the now-defunct Philippine Superliga, the F2 Logistics said that they will be halting its Cargo Movers squad and will be focusing on their grassroots programs.

Now that Lacsina has found a new home, she will immediately have a huge responsibility of helping the young NXLED squad rack up some wins and enter the playoffs for the first time.

Originally playing the middle blocker role since her collegiate days with the National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs, the Cargo Movers shifted her to an outside spiker role and is now one of the most improved offensive players in the PVL.

With the experience she will bring coming from a storied franchise, Lacsina is expected to deliver right away and take NXLED to new heights.

The Chameleons will still be headed by Japanese tactician Taka Minowa, the husband of Filipina volleyball superstar Jaja Santiago.
