Office ‘shake-up’ looms at City Hall

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas has announced the appointment of new department heads at the Iloilo City Hall citing retirements, resignations, and the establishment of a new department.

The changes were revealed during the city government department heads meeting on December 28 at the City Hall Penthouse.

According to the Mayor, he is considering converting the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Center headed by Velma Lao into a full department subject to the availability of funds.

Atty. Fydah Marie Sabando from the Iloilo City Legal Office will be heading the newly formed Data Privacy Department.

Jose Roni Peñalosa of the City Planning and Development Office will retire and will be succeeded by Ronald Cartagena.

The Head of the Special Services Division, Joren Sartorio, is also set to retire. Engr. Neil Ravena, who currently heads the City Environment and Natural Resources Office and oversees the Beautification Team and Solid Waste Management, will assume Sartorio’s position.

Janice Sy will replace Engr. Ravena.

On the other hand, Lea Lara was appointed Assistant Tourism Officer.

Additionally, Atty. Rudiver Jungco, Jr. is the new Assistant Human Resource Management Officer.

Meanwhile, Jeck Conlu, head of the Public Safety and Transportation Management Office (PTSMO) will be resigning and taking on the role of assistant regional director at the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.
