House Deputy Speaker Mikee Romero of the 1-Pacman Partylist fulfilled his promise of rewarding cash incentives to the Tokyo Olympics medalists.

After handing the check worth three-million pesos to the country’s first-ever Olympics gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz two weeks ago, Romero presented silver-medalists Carlo Paalam and Nesthy Petecio and bronze-medalist Eumir Marcial with their respective gifts.

Romero handed over two million pesos to Paalam and Petecio while Marcial received one million pesos during their ceremony “Bagsik Ng Kamao.”

“Nesthy, Carlo, and Eumir brought immense pride and hope to the Filipino people amid these trying times due to the pandemic. They truly deserve these blessings,” said Romero.

The ceremony was held at the AirAsia headquarters inside the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 and was led by Romero via Zoom.

Edwin Galvez, CEO of one of Romero’s companies and AirAsia executive Erick Arejola were the ones who personally gave the checks to the three Olympians.

“We are extremely proud of these sports heroes. Their achievements will surely serve as an inspiration to the next generation of Filipino boxers,” added Romero.
