There’s just no stopping the winningest franchise in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).
In a ninth attempt to taint their perfect record, another squad failed to hand the Creamline Cool Smashers its first defeat in the ongoing PVL All-Filipino Conference on February 11, 2025.
The Cool Smashers made a quick work of the young Farm Fresh Foxies squad in sweeping fashion, 25-15, 25-19, 27-25, to maintain their unblemished win-loss record in the All-Filipino Conference.
Fresh off a 3-0 victory over the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, Creamline picked up where they left off and sustained their high-level play against the Foxies.
Equipped with the veteran smarts that helped them prevent any costly mistakes against the younger team, Creamline taught Farm Fresh a lesson and showed them how it is done to protect such a comfortable lead.
The Cool Smashers capitalized on Farm Fresh’s early defensive miscues in the backline and pummeled every over-receive that the Foxies committed.
Aside from their defensive prowess, Creamline also capped off the win with an efficient offensive night, torching Farm Fresh with their crisp and quick 1-2 plays in the middle.
The Foxies showed some signs of life in the third and final set after forcing a decider, but Creamline put the cherry on top off Jema Galanza’s crucial hits.
Galanza led the cool Smashers with 15 points built from 12 successful attacks alongside four excellent receptions, two service aces, and a block.
Backstopping the seasoned outside hitter was Alyssa Valdez who delivered eight markers, 12 excellent digs, and nine excellent receptions.
“Siyempre ‘yung experience namin sa mga ganitong laban, nandiyan palagi. Happy kami at naka-recover kami sa dikitang laban kasi lumamang pa ‘yung Farm Fresh. ‘Yung breaks sa huli, nakuha namin nung third set,” said Creamline chief tactician Sherwin Meneses after their ninth straight win.
The Cool Smashers will aim for their 10th consecutive victory on February 15, 2025, as they face off against the PLDT High-Speed Hitters. Meanwhile, Farm Fresh will look to bounce back on February 18, 2025, against the Capital1 Solar Spikers.
