BACOLOD CITY – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has issued an advisory that one lane of the Bago Bridge will be closed to the public starting Monday, May 9, 2025.
In a public advisory issued Friday, the DPWH 4th Engineering Office stated that the southbound lane of the Bago Bridge, from Bago to Pulupandan, will be closed to motorists beginning May 9.
Southbound vehicles may still use the remaining lane, while northbound motorists can continue using the two lanes on the opposite side of the bridge.
In a letter dated May 5, 2025, addressed to Bago City Mayor Nicholas Yulo, the DPWH requested assistance in managing and directing traffic flow along the affected section during project implementation.
The contractor said the project, titled “Retrofitting/Strengthening of Permanent Bridges – Bago Bridge” along Bacolod South Bypass Road, is expected to last for 85 working days.
“We sincerely ask for the public’s patience and understanding for any inconvenience this may cause,” the agency said.
It added that the rehabilitation works are necessary to ensure the safety of all motorists and heavy vehicles using the national roads.
