The Philippine Press Institute (PPI), also known as the national association of newspapers, conducts the orientation and workshop on “Media Accountability and the Press Council” on March 21-22 in Angeles City, Pampanga, a prelude to the creation of Media-Citizen Councils nationwide.
The first of a series for Central Luzon was attended by media practitioners, lawyers, academics, members of Chamber of Commerce, members of Central Luzon Media Association (CLMA), police, and representatives from local government units from Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, Aurora, Zambales, and Nueva Ecija.
This initiative is being supported by the Dutch Embassy in the Philippines through the Ateneo de Manila University.
