The Orlando Magic just added back-to-back NBA Slam Dunk champion Mac McClung to its official roster ahead of the upcoming season to kick off this October 2024.
According to The Athletic’s veteran NBA insider Shams Charania, McClung is set to reinforce the Magic in the 2024-2024 season.
After an impressive showing in the NBA G-League where he averaged 25.2 points, 5.9 assists, and 1.1 steals last season, McClung will be taking a step forward in his career due to a guaranteed Orlando spot.
McClung already went to the Orlando training camp last season and has proven his worth after putting in the work in the NBA G-League.
The high-flying guard’s draft stock increased after clinching the G-League Most Valuable Player (MVP) honors for the Osceola Magic.
However, NBA fans will forever remember McClung as a back-to-back NBA Slam Dunk King, bagging the title during the past two NBA All-Star events.
McClung also became the fifth player in NBA history to defend his Slam Dunk crown, electrifying the crowd in Indiana and Utah with his creative masterpiece slams.
Aside from that feat, McClung is also the first Slam Dunk champion to win two straight events in the past eight years since Zach Lavine.
McClung will have the chance to team up with NBA uprising superstar Paolo Banchero and young small forward gunner Franz Wagner when the season kicks off.
