Over 420 security forces deployed for Manggahan 2024

Manggahan Festival 2024 has officially commenced with a send-off ceremony for security forces at the new Provincial Capitol Building in Guimaras on April 30, 2024.

The event was attended by Governor JC Rahman A. Nava, MD, Vice Governor Atty. John Edward G. Gando, and Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO) Provincial Director Police Col. Rhea E. Santos.

A robust contingent of 420 members, including Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel, force multipliers, and other government forces, have been deployed to ensure public safety throughout the 20-day festival.

The security team comprises 241 police officers, 40 emergency responders, and 36 members from the Philippine Coast Guard and Bureau of Fire Protection.

Additionally, 103 force multipliers from the PNP Highway Patrol Group, AFP reservists, and other groups will augment the security efforts.

Governor Nava emphasized the growth of the festival each year and expressed confidence in the comprehensive security measures in place.

“With the help of our law enforcement agencies and force multipliers, we are well-prepared to handle any challenges that come our way,” he said.

The governor also expressed his anticipation for a joyful and secure festival, highlighting the readiness of government forces and force multipliers to protect both participants and spectators during the celebrated event.
