BACOLOD City – A total of 62 persons were arrested while P1,259,600 worth of suspected shabu was seized in separate buy-bust operations here and in various areas in Negros Occidental from Jan 21 to Feb 1, 2020.
The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confiscated P688,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested 27 persons.
Also, P571,600 worth of the same contraband was recovered and 35 persons were arrested by the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo).
The Bacolod operations were conducted in Barangays 1, 12, 25, 27, 40, Punta Taytay, Villamonte, Banago, Felisa, Alijis, Estefania, and Vista Alegre.
Nocppo also conducted series of drug busts in the cities of Kabankalan, La Carlota, Cadiz, Bago, Silay, Victorias, Sagay, Escalante, Himamaylan, and Talisay, and in the towns of Murcia, Hinigaran, Pontevedra, Valladolid, Calatrava, and E.B. Magalona.
Among the arrested individuals was Michael Tronzon, 32, of Barangay Puey, Sagay City.
Tronzon, the top drug personality in the city, was arrested at the said village last Saturday after police seized from him four sachets of suspected shabu worth P2,000, and the P500 marked money.
Silay City Police Station led by Police Major Rollie Pondevilla had the highest drug recovery in the province with the seizure of P210,000 worth of suspected shabu from three persons last January 29.
For Bacolod, the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Jovie Espenido also recorded the highest drug haul of P120,000 worth of the same contraband from three persons at Barangay Banago last January 21.
