BACOLOD City – An estimated P1,732,772 worth of suspected shabu were seized by policemen here and in Negros Occidental from June 5 to 11.

The biggest drug haul was reported in Barangay Handumanan here on June 8, wherein 100 grams of suspected shabu worth P680,000 were confiscated by the City Drugs Enforcement Unit (CDEU) from a fish vendor.

Aside from this, P357,200 worth of the same contraband were also seized from 10 persons here, particularly in Barangays Taculing, 20, 16, Vista Alegre, Singcang-Airport, 26, Cabug, and 2.

In the province, 25 individuals were apprehended for the recovery of P695,572 worth of suspected shabu.

San Carlos City recorded the highest drug haul with the recovery of P236,980 worth of suspected shabu from a man on June 8.

Other anti-illegal drug operations were also conducted in the cities of Silay, Sipalay, Escalante, Sagay, Bago, Himamaylan, Victorias, Kabankalan, La Carlota, Talisay, and Cadiz, and the towns of La Castellana, Manapla, Toboso, Binalbagan, Ilog, Hinoba-an, Calatrava, Pontevedra, and San Enrique.
