P1.7-M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Dumaguete

BACOLOD City – More or less 250 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.7 million was seized in a buy-bust at Barangay Batinguel, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental last week.

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Oriental led by Intelligence Agent I Gladys Grace Cruz arrested Joginer Moreno, 52, of the said village.

PDEA agents recovered from the suspect six packs of the said contraband, and the marked money.

Charges for violation of Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and 11 (illegal possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 will be filed against Moreno.

The operation was also in coordination with the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo) and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit.

Meanqhie, five persons were arrested in three buy-bust operations here and in two cities in Negros Occidental in the past two days.

Arrested at Barangay Alijis here yesterday were Andrew Mostoles Sr., and Analiza Languido after police seized from them five sachets of suspected shabu weighing 15 grams worth P225,000, the P500 marked money, several empty plastic sachets, a coin purse, and P200 cash.

Both suspects, who are detained at Police Station 3, are high value targets police records showed.

In San Carlos City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the province arrested Winnie Lyn Dayondon Dual and Julio Llavore Licayan at Barangay 6 last Sunday.

Police recovered from them six grams of suspected shabu worth P48,800.

In Victorias City, Maricor De Asis, 49, of Barangay 1 was also arrested at the said village that day after he allegedly yielded 12 sachets of suspected shabu worth P10,000, the P400 marked money, and P400 cash.
