BACOLOD City – A transient quarters will soon be constructed inside the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) headquarters here.

PNP chief General Debold Sinas led the groundbreaking ceremony of the facility at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. during his first official visit here yesterday.

The construction of the 12-room transient quarters will begin once the Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) from the Department of Budget Management (DBM) is released. The total budget for the project is PHP10-million.

The structure will be built in the area where the old Nocppo Apartment (which was constructed on June 14, 1974 and was inaugurated on April 14, 1975) once stood.

Sinas said that the structure will help the police officers to settle immediately and render service.

Sinas thanked Abang-Lingkod Party-List Rep. Joseph Stephen Paduano for helping in the realization of the project.

Further, Sinas commended Colonel Romy Palgue, Nocppo director for maintaining a favorable peace and order in the province that is needed and appreciated by the people.

“The records and statistics speak well of the leadership of Nocppo in spite of the pandemic,” he said.

Also present in the activity were Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr., representing Paduano, who facilitated the inclusion of the said project in the General Appropriations Act for 2021 of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and Engr. Jaime SJ Javellana, District Engineer, DPWH-BCDEO on behalf of Engr. Lea Delfinado, DPWH-6 director.
