BACOLOD CITY – A fire razed five business establishments, causing P13.28 million in damages on 23rd Lacson Street, Barangay 5, last Saturday.
Fire Superintendent Jenny Mae Masip, acting city fire marshal, reported that the blaze destroyed three structures and partially damaged two others.
Masip said the fire broke out around 1:46 p.m. in the kitchen area of a restobar. By the time firefighters arrived, the fire had already spread to neighboring establishments, fueled by light partitions.
Thick black smoke was visible from the highway along Lacson Street.
An employee of the restobar, who was in the kitchen at the time, suffered minor burns, according to Masip.
Masip mentioned that the cause of the blaze is still under investigation. The fire was declared out at 2:16 p.m.
