BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental District Jail (NODJ) in Bago City offered a P20,000 cash reward to anyone who can provide information that will lead to the arrest of two jailbirds.

Senior Inspector Norberto Miciano Jr., jail warden, said informants can receive P10,000 for each of the two persons deprived of liberty (PDL) who bolted from jail.

Jimmy Sablon of Barangay Robles, La Castellana town, who is facing a frustrated murder rap; and Ramonito Ventura of Barangay Buenavista, Murcia town, who was charged for robbery, escaped early Monday by cutting the steel bars of their respective dormitories.

Miciano said five jail officers were on duty at that time but they failed to notice the two PDLs sneak out of the jail.

They only discovered the jailbreak two hours after the two PDLs had escaped, he added.

Miciano said they are still investigating if the jail officers committed lapses. He is also part of the investigation under the principle of command responsibility.

He said they already have a lead on the jailbirds’ whereabouts, adding that manhunt operation is ongoing.

He said this is the first time that two PDLS had escaped from the facility this year.
