Christmas will be extra merry for regular employees of the Iloilo City Hall after the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) approved their cash incentives and benefits totalling P47.224 million.
Councilor Jay Treñas chairman of the Committee of Appropriations of the SP said the budget was included in the P114,658,455.22 Supplemental Budget Number 4 that was approved during their regular session Tuesday.
“Under the approved supplemental budget, the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) benefits for the employees totaled to P20.009 million; Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) at P9.025 million; and Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) at P18.190 million for qualified employees,” he said.
Mayor Jerry Treñas announced on Monday that the regular employees of the City Hall will receive a total of P26,000 in bonus and cash incentives this Christmas.
The mayor said regular employees will each receive P11,000 for the CNA, P5,000 for the PEI and P10,000 for the SRI as previously announced by President Rodrigo Duterte
“The city council and the rest wanted a bigger amount but daw asta lang dira ang makaya ta,” he said in an interview on Monday.
The cash incentives and benefits cannot be availed by job hires.
Instead, Treñas said they are planning to increase the daily wage of job hires working in the city government from P400 to P500 next year.
“Indi gid ta kahatag sa job hires but next year job hires will be getting P500 per day,” he said.
