P292-K ‘shabu’ seized in six days, 18 nabbed

BACOLOD City – Eighteen persons were arrested while P292,156 worth of suspected shabu were seized in separate anti-illegal drug operations here and in Negros Occidental from May 4 to 9.

The bulk of the seizure was reported here totaling P163,480 worth of suspected shabu.

Six persons were arrested by Police Stations 3, 2, 1, and 5 in Barangays Mandalagan, 2, 16, and Taculing here, respectively.

In the province, 12 individuals were apprehended in the cities of Sagay, Victorias, Kabankalan, Silay, San Carlos, Himamaylan, and the town of Isabela. Police seized P128,676 worth of suspected shabu.

Meanwhile, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized 334.5279 grams of illegal drugs worth P2,274,789.82 here from April 1 to 31.

A total of 50 police operations were conducted, resulting in the arrest of 57 drug personalities, including seven High-Value Individuals (HVI), five newly-identified individuals, and 45 Street Level Individuals (SLI).

A total of 61 cases were filed in court for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On the other hand, 14 persons were arrested for allegedly engaging in illegal cockfighting in Barangay Bagtic, Silay City on May 6.

The arrested individuals aged 30 to 69 are residents of Talisay City, Silay City, and E.B. Magalona town.

Police recovered from them 10 dead fighting cocks, five live fighting cocks, and P6,588 bet money.
