P365,500 worth of ‘shabu’ seized

BACOLOD City – Nine persons were arrested for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in separate operations here and in Negros Occidental this week, which resulted in the seizure of P365,500 worth of suspected shabu.

The biggest seizure was from five persons arrested in a buy-bust at Barangay 8 here on March 23.

Police arrested John Paul Guzon, 34, of Barangay Tangub; Kube Salaza, 22, Barangay Mansilingan; Bobby Palomo, 63, of Barangay 8, and Erikson Cordova, 35, and Jonathan Salcedo, 27, both residents of Barangay 6.

Cops confiscated from the five 21 sachets of suspected shabu worth P240,000, the 200 marked money, P800, and drug paraphernalia. All suspects are detained at Police Station 2.

In Silay City, Cristobal Pegaris, 42, of Barangay Mambulac was collared in a drug bust at the said village on March 27.

Recovered were 13 sachets of suspected shabu worth P120,000, drug paraphernalia, and the P500 marked money.

In La Carlota City, Archie Porquez, 34, of Barangay Batuan was arrested in a drug bust at the said village on March 26. Police seized from him six sachets of suspected shabu worth P5,500, and the P500 marked money.

Two persons were also arrested in the cities of Sagay and Himamaylan for the same offense when they were flagged down in a check-up point in relation to the community quarantine against the threat of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
