P374,000 worth of shabu, gun seized in Bacolod bust

BACOLOD CITY – The City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) here seized 55 grams of suspected shabu worth P374,000 from a man and a woman during a buy-bust operation at Purok Nami-Nami, Barangay Sum-ag, on Sunday.

According to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), the two suspects were allegedly caught selling the suspected shabu to a police agent during the operation.

Confiscated from the suspects were four sachets of suspected shabu, an improvised shotgun, three live rounds of ammunition, P9,000 in boodle money, and P1,000 in cash.

Both suspects are currently detained at Police Station 9, where they await the filing of drug-related charges.

Police Colonel Joeresty Coronica, officer-in-charge of the BCPO, commended the operating units and personnel for their relentless efforts in the campaign against illegal drugs.

In a statement, Coronica reiterated the BCPO’s commitment to intensifying its anti-criminality initiatives, vowing to ensure a safe and peaceful Bacolod.

He also encouraged the public to take an active role in protecting their communities by reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities.
