Approximately P50,000 in cash and medicines were stolen after a lone burglar broke into a drug store in Arevalo, Iloilo City.

Captain Benjie Dicen, chief of Iloilo City Police Station 6, said the incident occurred between midnight and 1 a.m. on May 6.

CCTV footage captured a male individual entering the building by removing the jalousie leaves where JASAC Drugstore, located in Barangay Sta. Filomena, operates.

The burglar first entered the comfort room, and then attempted to access the drugstore from an adjoining office.

Unable to enter directly, he rummaged through an office drawer and found a key to the roll-up door of the drugstore.

Using the key, he accessed the drugstore and stole the items.

The robbery was discovered by the drugstore’s pharmacist, who reported the incident to the police at 8:20 a.m.

Captain Dicen noted that they have identified a person of interest in connection with the robbery.

The suspect, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, has reportedly been involved in similar cases.
