The Iloilo City government plans to construct a mid-rise condominium at Brgy. San Isidro in Jaro district to address the housing needs of employees.
According to Mayor Jerry Treñas, the proposed mid-rise condominium, which can accommodate 120 units, is meant for regular employees of the city government.
“May ara kita nga mid-rise condominium para sa relocation sites area didto sa San Isidro sa Jaro. Unahon ta ang mga empleyado sa siyudad nga wala balay para makakuha man kamo sang inyo matawag man ninyo nga balay,” Treñas said in an interview on Monday.
Treñas said Iloilo City Urban Poor Affairs Office (ICUPAO) head Roy Firmeza is finalizing the guidelines for the proposed mid-rise condominium.
“ICUPAO head Roy Firmeza will be coming up with the guidelines para indi man nga may pinilian, ubrahon ta nga ang tanan may equal chances nga makakuha sang sini nga relocation sites,” he said.
In previous interviews, the mayor said the city government already has P88 million for the construction of the mid-rise condominium.
“May ara na kita nga pondo nga P88 million and maumpisahan na ini mga first half sang sini nga tuig,” he said.
During the regular flag ceremony on Monday, the mayor emphasized the importance of having a good home.
“We are going to start from our house kay kon indi naton maatipan ang aton balay. Indi man naton maexpect nga maubra ang tanan sang ila gid masarangan. Once, we have taken care our house then we start going out para damo pa gid aton maubra,” he said.
