BACOLOD City – A man and his 12-year-old son were injured after their motorcycle allegedly collided with a truck at Crossing Kanding, Barangay Camingawan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental Monday morning.

Wounded were Dominador Laparan, 40, of Barangay Oringao; and his minor-son.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonel Guadalupe, city police chief, said the motorcycle allegedly overlapped the opposite lane which caused the vehicle to crash on the truck driven by Manuel Teomale, 32, of Barangay Estefania here.

Guadalupe said the truck was on its way to Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental while the motorcycle was on its way to the city proper.

Both victims sustained leg injuries and were brought to a hospital.

Guadalupe said Teomale is under police custody and will be released after the 12-hour reglementary detention, pending the agreement with the victims’ family.
