A father and his two sons were arrested in separate raids on their houses in Oton, Iloilo morning of Dec 3, 2020.

Police identified the suspects as Rolando Condag Sr., 68, and his sons Rolando Jr., 31; and Francis, 43.

Rolando Sr. and Rolando Jr. lived under one roof while Francis has his own house within their family compound at Barangay Pulo Maestra Vita, Oton.

Members of the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, together with Oton Police Station, carried out the search and seizure operation following complaints against the Condag family.

Lieutenant Colonel Frederick Mead, 1st IPMFC commander, said they received a text message through their hotline number claiming that the Condags kept firearms in their houses.

“We immediately checked with the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office and learned that no gun was licensed under their names,” Mead said.

When the operation was conducted, police operatives seized a caliber .45 pistol (serial number 940261) with a magazine loaded with seven ammunitions and a caliber .380 pistol with two magazines loaded with 10 ammunition and one ammunition chamber load.

Meanwhile, police recovered from Francis’s house a caliber .45 pistol (serial number 357820) with 10 live and one chamber load ammunition; and a 12-gauge Armscor shotgun (serial number 1046404).

The three suspects are detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act)

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Rolando Miranda, Western Visayas police chief, lauded the efforts of the operating units for the successful implementation of search warrants.

During his assumption, Miranda said that he will be relentless in the campaign against loose firearms in Western Visayas.
