Painter nabbed with P346K of shabu

A house painter from Roxas City, Capiz was nabbed for possessing an estimated PHP346,000 worth of suspected shabu in a police anti-narcotics operation morning of February 18, 2021.

Police identified the suspect as Cyrus Adonis, 39, a resident of Sitio Carmel, Barangay Banica, Roxas City.

Members of the Capiz Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (CPPO-PDEU) and Roxas City Police Station arrested Adonis after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for PHP15,000.

Recovered from his possession were 12 sachets of suspected shabu, PHP15,000 buy bust money, 2 lighters, mobile phone, two scissors, several empty plastic sachets, and a portable gas stove case.

Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Jomuad, Jr,, Roxas City police chief, said the suspect had been on their radar a few years back. Recently, police learned that he was moving large volumes of drugs in the city.

“Several drug pushers that we arrested pointed to Adonis as their source,” he said.

With over 50 grams of shabu seized from his possession, Adonis is now deemed as a high value target.

He is presently detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
