The National Food Authority (NFA) in Iloilo said that procurement of palay from individual farmers and cooperatives is ongoing in the various buying stations and warehouses in the provinces of Iloilo and Guimaras.
NFA Iloilo provincial manager Jose Mario Adan D. Pacificador said the NFA buying stations and warehouses, which are strategically located in various areas here, are ready to accept and buy clean and dry palay at P19 per kilogram.
“The palay should be clean and dry for buffer stocking and so that storage life would be longer,” he said.
For the first and second districts of Iloilo, the designated buying stations are the Kabsaka Warehouse located at NFA-Quintin Salas in Jaro, Iloilo City, and the Jaro Triplex Warehouse, which is also situated at NFA-Quintin Salas in Jaro district here.
The Pototan Grains Center in Pototan, Iloilo is the designated buying station for the municipalities in the third district of the province. However, farmers from the towns of Cabatuan, Badiangan, Maasin, Lambunao, Bingawan, Janiuay, and Calinog may also sell their palay at the Kabsaka Warehouse and Jaro Triplex Warehouse.
The designated buying station for the municipalities in the fourth district is the Dumangas Grains Center in Dumangas, Iloilo. Farmers from the municipalities of Dueñas and Dingle and from the city of Passi can also sell their palay at the Pototan Grains Center.
For the fifth district, the designated buying stations are the San Dionisio Warehouse in San Dionisio, Iloilo and Sara Warehouse in Sara, Iloilo. Farmers from the municipality of Barotac Viejo may sell their palay at Dumangas Grains Center.
For the island-province of Guimaras, the designated buying station is the Suclaran Warehouse in the municipality of San Lorenzo.
