Two friends were caught for alleged shabu possession following a police anti-narcotics operation early evening of April 19, 2021 in Pavia, Iloilo.

The suspects were identified as Charne Palomar, 26, of Barangay Petronila, Tapaz, Capiz and Roldan Naquera, 20, of Barangay North Baluarte, Molo, Iloilo City.

Members of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU), together with Pavia Police Station, collared the suspects in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Cabugao Sur, Pavia around 6:20 p.m. Monday.

Recovered from their possession were nine sachets of suspected shabu, P1,500 marked money, two coin purses, a black leather pouch, a lighter, a mobile phone, and P600 cash.

Police valued the seized substance at P200,000.

Captain Albert Francis Fortunado, IPPO-PDEU team leader, said Palomar was the main target of the operation.

Classified as newly identified drug personalities, Palomar and Naquera may have been sourcing their drug supply from Iloilo City.

They have been switching meet-up places until they were caught in Pavia.

The suspects are now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug of 2002).
