BACOLOD CITY – Panaad sa Negros Festival 2025 Executive Director Charina Magallanes-Tan said the weeklong celebration was “overwhelmingly successful.”

Tan told reporters Monday that the crowd turnout at the Panaad Park and Stadium and visitors to the 31 city and municipal pavilions indicated strong public support.

Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson also declared the 29th Panaad sa Negros Festival a “resounding success.”

Police estimated the total crowd at 70,000 throughout the festival.

Sales from kiosks and pavilions reached PHP16.6 million, Tan said.

However, she noted that while the crowd grew, sales were lower compared to previous years.

“It could be that people go to the Panaad Festival mainly for entertainment and to check out the products,” she added.

Tan said the festival’s highlight was the finale on Sunday, where rock artist Bamboo performed despite the rain, with the audience staying in place.

During the closing program, Lacson encouraged Negrenses to continue fostering unity and progress as embodied by the festival.

“The future unfolds before us – filled with opportunities, challenges, and the promise of an even brighter tomorrow,” Lacson said.

He thanked Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, local chief executives, security forces, exhibitors, concessionaires, and working committees for contributing to the festival’s continued success.

“As the curtains close on our 29th Panaad sa Negros Festival, we take this moment to reflect on the incredible journey we have shared throughout the past week,” he said.

“Time moves swiftly, but the memories, achievements, and renewed commitments we have strengthened during this festival will remain with us.”

Lacson added that “each moment of this festival has been a testament to the strength, creativity, and unity of the Negrenses.”

He also praised the participants in various competitions, including the Lin-ay sang Negros candidates, for bringing inspiration and pride to Negros Occidental.

“Your performances have not only entertained but have also reflected the vibrant culture, artistry, and unwavering spirit of the Negrense people,” Lacson said.

“You are the true embodiment of what Panaad stands for – the past, present, and unfolding future of Negros Occidental,” he added.
