
The Parecoy Inter Ball Club Tournament for players aged 45 and above officially opened at the Lapaz plaza gymnasium in Iloilo City on Sunday with a rousing show of community spirit, competitive play, and support from local leaders.
The opening ceremony saw a full turnout of teams, supporters, and organizers, as well as honored guests including Iloilo City Councilors Rudolph Jeffrey Ganzon and Daily Guardian editor-in-chief Francis Allan Angelo. Organizers extended heartfelt gratitude to all participating clubs and attendees.
“Madamo guid nga salamat sa tanan nga nag-join. We hope this league will be very successful and God bless us all,” according to PARECOY Basketball Club president Jojemar Jayme.
The tournament, hosted by the PARECOY Basketball Club, tipped off with three action-packed games showcasing both talent and camaraderie.
In the first match, MGC Uniwheels PARECOY dominated United Ballers with a decisive 109-79 victory. The high-scoring affair set the tone for the rest of the day, with MGC Uniwheels establishing themselves as early favorites.
The second game saw Proprietor edge out Primes in a hard-fought 97-84 win, while Legends overpowered Mustang86-67 in the day’s final matchup.
Organizers also announced the new officers of the PARECOY Basketball Club (Wildcats) for 2025:

The tournament will run over the coming weeks, aiming to promote health, sportsmanship, and friendship among Ilonggo basketball veterans.
