BACOLOD City – A female passenger died while a tricycle driver was wounded after they figured in a collision on Burgos-Lacson Street, Barangay 18 here yesterday.
Police Lieutenant Andy Ofalia, deputy commander of Police Station 2, said the fatality has yet to be identified.
Wounded was Gilward Dalumpines of Barangay Handumanan here.
The collision between the tricycle and sports utility vehicle driven by 36-year-old resident of Capas, Tarlac occurred at an intersection.
Ofalia did not reveal yet who was at fault in the incident as investigation is ongoing. But he believed that both vehicles were probably speeding when the crash happened.
The female passenger was declared dead on arrival at a hospital, while Dalumpines, who suffered serious injuries, is still confined in a hospital.
Ofalia said the SUV driver, who is detained at the police station, had an initial talk with Dalumpines’ family for a possible settlement.
