A pastor’s son was collared in a police anti-narcotics operation in Pototan, Iloilo.

Ron Jether Jardenil, 32, a construction worker and resident of Barangay Dapitan, Pototan, was arrested evening of February 7, 2021 at Barangay F. Parcon Ward.

Joint elements of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU 6) Team 3 and Pototan Police Station nabbed Jardenil after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover agent for P12,100.

When he was subsequently frisked, the suspect yielded a pouch containing six more sachets of suspected shabu and some cash.

Lieutenant Glenn Soliman, RPDEU team leader, said the seized drugs from Jardenil was valued at P245,000.

As policemen were about to arrest him after the transaction, the suspect tried to evade arrest. He was able to run for about 100 meters before policemen cornered him.

Jardenil even threw the marked money as he was fleeing.

Meanwhile, Major Ciriaco Esquilarga, Pototan police chief, said Jardenil is a newly identified drug personality.

He was placed under monitoring after several drug personalities arrested in Iloilo City named him as their supplier.

Jardenil is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
