Pavia town in Iloilo province has the most number of residents who opted to be vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Iloilo City, according to a letter from City Mayor Jerry Treñas.
The city government last week revealed that up to 55,436 residents from the province got their COVID-19 jabs in the city, based on Treñas’ letter to Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr.
On Sunday, Treñas shared his Nov. 12 letter with Daily Guardian, showing a detailed breakdown of the number of Iloilo province residents who obtained COVID shots in the city.
The top five towns included Pavia (8,031), Oton (7,342), Santa Barbara (3,383), Tigbauan (2,837), and Leganes (2,482).
The other towns and corresponding vaccinees are:

The data in the letter, however, did not segregate between those who got the first dose only and those who completed their second dose.
Subtracting Iloilo province residents, Iloilo City has 268,949 residents who completed their COVID vaccination. This translates to 80.24 percent of the national government’s local herd immunity target of 335,172.
