PBA commissioner Willie Marcial and the rest of the board have finally decided to scrap the entire 2021 draft combine from March 10-11.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions set by the country, Marcial said Filipino-Foreign players yet to arrive in the PH for the draft combine might face delays as they need to undergo quarantine as part of the safety protocols.

Also, Marcial and his team said that it is still the players’ safety that they prioritize especially that the presence of the virus is still around.

Although the 2021 draft combine will not push through, Marcial assured everyone that the 2021 PBA Draft scheduled on March 14 will still take place.

The PBA board will still hold to their new format of a virtual annual draft and this will be the first time in history where they will be conducting a drafting ceremony with all the aspirants and team managers joining them online.

Analysts recently said that this 2021 batch of PBA applicants will go down as one of the best squads in terms of talent, experience, and quality.

Headlining the 2021 batch are 3×3 no. 1 player of the country Joshua Munzon, high-leaping star Jamie Malonzo, and Munzon’s teammate in the 3×3 scene Alvin Pasaol.
