PBA hails TNT’s Ricky Vargas as Executive of the Year

PBA organizers unanimously voted TNT Katropa’s Ricky Vargas as the recipient of the Danny Floro Executive of the Year award.

Also the chairman of the PBA board, his constituents cited Vargas’ leadership and courage as the key factors in him deserving the award.

The PBA board also applauded Vargas’ relaxed approach amid internal and external problems happening in the league, stating that despite him being calm, he is still able to come up with effective solutions and remedies for an easy patch-up.

The first to serve as chairman for three straight terms since Moro Lopez Sr. of Pepsi way back 1991 to 1993, Vargas’ kind of leadership made him the best candidate for the PBA 45th season’s chairmanship which he won.

This will be the second time that Vargas will be receiving the prestigious award, the first time that he got the plum was during 2006.

Aside from being the executive of the TNT Katropa and the chairman of the PBA board, Vargas is also the chief of the Association of Boxing Alliances in the Philippines.
