After violating guidelines regarding the resume of practices for professional basketball, Blackwater Elite owner Dioceldo Sy was thankful for the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases’ decision of not pursuing sanctions against them.

“I’m happy and relieved on the Palace decision. Now I can move on and put this experience behind,” said Sy.

Now cleared under the IATF, it is all up to the PBA and the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) if they will penalize Blackwater.

To recall, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said that they don’t see any reason to sanction the PBA team after PBA and GAB already called their attention and vowed to investigate the matter.

Meanwhile, Abraham Mitra, GAB’s president, accepted the IATF’s request of handling the pending case of Blackwater and will be consulting with commissioner Willie Marcial and the PBA on the subject matter.

“Sec. Roque has a lot of things on his plate. Sobrang dami tayo sa sports parang naisip niya may government agency na nag-a-asikaso na diyan, so ok na yan,” said Mitra.

PBA already slapped Blackwater with a 100,000 peso-fine for practicing ahead of their proposed schedule while GAB has yet to act with their sanction.
