PBBM Leads Iloilo Job Fair for 4Ps Beneficiaries

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Assistant Regional Director Melisa S. Navarra discuss the implementation of DOLE programs in the region and the progress of the ongoing Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas Job Fair for 4Ps beneficiaries at the Iloilo Sports Complex.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the Bagong Pilipinas Job Fair for Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Feb. 13, 2025, at the Iloilo Sports Complex.

The job fair is part of the Trabaho Para sa Bagong Pilipinas para sa 4Ps initiative, launched by the Office of the President with support from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and DSWD in January 2025. It aims to provide employment opportunities to 4Ps families, particularly those graduating from the program.

In his speech, Marcos highlighted the importance of job opportunities for vulnerable sectors to alleviate poverty and improve economic conditions.

Of the 582 qualified job seekers, 26 were hired on the spot as maintenance personnel, delivery riders, cashiers, and utility and service crew members. Additionally, 35 near-hired applicants were required to submit pre-employment documents and undergo further interviews before securing jobs.

Marcos also visited the Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) center, which offered fresh and quality products from local farmers and resellers. The National Food Authority sold rice at PHP29 per kilo at the KNP, providing an affordable option for low-income families.

Regional Director Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez Jr. praised the initiative and pledged strong support for its implementation. “The government is committed to providing this golden opportunity for 4Ps beneficiaries, and DOLE will assist them in securing stable and decent jobs to become self-reliant,” Rodriguez said.

Apart from the job fair, the DOLE Help Desk, composed of representatives from 16 government agencies, provided assistance to 4Ps beneficiaries.
