PBSP marks 31 years of engagement in Visayas

OVER 60 representatives from PBSP’s member companies and partners gathered recently during the 31st Visayas Annual Membership Meeting of the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) at the City Sports Club in Cebu City.

They celebrated the accomplishments of PBSP with its member-companies and partners in the Visayas in the previous year, and also discussed how to be more involved in providing sustainable solutions to societal problems.

National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) Region VII Director Efren Carreon, who was the keynote speaker, presented the Philippine Development Plan and shared opportunities where the private sector in the Visayas can contribute to help address gaps and challenges.

These are in the agriculture, fishery, forestry, science innovation and technology sectors.

He also called for greater business involvement in infrastructure support, protection of water resources, and in capacitating micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
