BACOLOD City – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-6 incinerated P53,444,251.75 worth of illegal drugs at the San Carlos Bio-Energy, Inc. (SCBI) in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental Friday.
According to PDEA-6 spokesperson Shey Tanaleon, 6,280.0099 grams of shabu worth P53,380,084.15, and 427.0784 grams of marijuana worth P64,167.06 were subjected to thermal destruction.
Tanaleon said the illegal drugs that were incinerated were used as evidence in court which already promulgated decisions on the cases.
It was the first thermal destruction of illegal drugs in the province, and the second and last in Western for this year.
Tanaleon said the activity was led by PDEA-6 assistant director Donelyn Hemedez and witnessed by representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ), Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 forensics unit, and some elected officials.
