The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Board of Electronics Engineering announced that 983 of 2,935 examinees nationwide, or 33.49%, passed the April 2023 Electronics Engineers Licensure Examination given in fifteen (15) testing centers nationwide.
Joshua Aniken Garcia Acusta of ISAT University ranked number 1 in the said examination for Electronics Engineers. Henrach Lee Barino Gelvoleo of TUP-Visayas, Talisay, Negros Occidental ranked number 3.
Western Visayas Region performed high, with a passing percentage higher than that of the national average. Four schools in Western Visayas out of 8, or 50%, performed high or with a passing percentage higher than that of the national level.
The Region produced 94 passers out of 190 takers, or 49.5% passing percentage. There were 125 first takers and 65 repeaters from the Region who took the said examination. The first takers passing percentage is 54.4%. The repeaters’ passing percentage is 40%.
Likewise, the PRC Board of Electronics Engineering announced that a total of 1,641 out of 2,227 examinees nationwide, or 73.69%, passed in the April 2023 Electronics Technicians Licensure Examination given in fifteen (15) testing centers nationwide.
Technological University of the Philippines-Visayas (TUP-Visayas), Talisay, Negros Occidental ranked number 1 in the top performing schools with 50 or more examinees and at least 80% passing percentage. Oneal Cervantes Laboriante of TUP-Visayas ranked number 4 in the said examination for Electronics Technicians.
Likewise, Dante John Sudario Robles of ISAT University, La Paz, Iloilo City, ranked number 4 in the said examination. The Western Visayas Region performed high, or with passing percentage higher than that of the national average. Four schools in Western Visayas out of 8, or 50%, performed high or with a passing percentage higher than that of the national level.
The Region produced 138 passers out of 157 takers, or 87.9% passing percentage. There were 145 first takers and 12 repeaters from the Region who took the said examination. The first takers passing percentage is 91.03%. The repeaters passing percentage is 50%.
Republic Act Number 9292 (RA 9292) regulates and categorizes the registration, licensing and practice of Professional Electronics Engineers (PECE), Electronics Engineers (ECE) and Electronics Technicians (ECT) in the Philippines. Qualified to take the licensure examinations must be a citizen of the Philippines or of foreign country; and of good moral character and had not been convicted by a court of law of a criminal offense involving moral turpitude.
Applicants for the Electronics Engineering examinations shall be holder of a degree in Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering, or Electronics Engineering, and/or any related engineering course or program from any higher education institutions recognized by the Government or the state where it is established subject to compliance with the minimum requirements prescribed by the Professional Regulatory Board of Electronics Engineering (PRBEE).
Applicants for the Electronics Technician examinations shall be a graduate of an Associate, Technician, Trade or Vocational course in electronics or such equivalent and/or related formal or non-formal course or program from any school, college, university or training institution recognized by the Government or the State where it is established, after completing a resident course or program of not less than two (2) years subject to the evaluation of the PRBEE. Or has completed at least the minimum third-year equivalent of a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering or Electronics Engineering program according to guidelines of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), subject to the evaluation of the Professional Regulatory Board of Electronics Engineering.
