After a winless start in the opening game week of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference, the Petro Gazz Angels are looking to peak at the right time of the tournament after scoring a massive sweep over the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, 25-18, 25-21, 25-18, on August 6, 2024, at the Philsports Arena.

With the victory, Petro Gazz just improved their record to two wins and three losses and are now ranked fourth in Pool B of the import-laced conference.

It was a dominant display of offensive wizardry for the defending Reinforced Conference champion as they outworked the Flying Titans with their efficient scoring performance.

Wilma Salas made sure her squad wouldn’t fall to a dangerous 1-4 hole as she spearheaded the Petro Gazz hitting party with 18 points derived from 16 successful attacks.

Aside from her offensive prowess, the returning import also played a huge role on the defensive end and tallied a total of 18 excellent receptions.

Also stepping up for the Angels is veteran outside hitter Myla Pablo who earned one of her best scoring performances in five games with 11 markers.

Pablo’s contribution was valuable in the second and third sets as her timely attacks prevented Choco Mucho’s comeback attempt when they kept on chopping down their deficit.

Brooke Van Sickle was also stellar during Petro Gazz’s 3-0 win after backstopping Salas with 17 points and 12 excellent digs.

On the other hand, it was only Dindin Santiago-Manabat who grabbed the spotlight for the Flying Titans after leading her team with 13 points derived from 11 successful attacks.
