BACOLOD City – The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental has started rolling out the Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccines Monday.
Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz said 340 Silay City residents were scheduled for inoculation at the Teresa Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital.
At the Negros Residences, 445 from Talisay City, 35 from Hinigaran, and 200 from Silay City received their Pfizer jabs.
Diaz said inoculation at TLJPH was quicker as they finished the vaccination by 2 p.m.
The Pfizer rollout runs until Friday, specifically for government employees.
“At 1,000 [inoculations] a day, we’ll be able to inoculate 5,000 people by Friday,” Diaz added.
He further said that only half of the 1,950 vials of Pfizer vaccines will be used, as the other half will be for the second dose to be administered after 28 days.
Diaz added that 315 residents from the towns of Manapla, Toboso, Calatrava and Cadiz City will be inoculated at the TLJPH and another 672 from Murcia, Candoni, La Castellana, Don Salvador Benedicto, Valladolid, and La Carlota City will receive their jabs today, June 29, at the Negros Residences.
Diaz said majority of the vaccine recipients are indigents and senior citizens.
