Kaya FC-Iloilo showed no mercy during their match against Manila Montet Football Club after hosting a massive one-sided victory, 14-0, in the ongoing Philippines Football League (PFL) on June 15, 2024, at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
Just like their previous four encounters in the PFL, the Iloilo-based football club pulled off a high-octane outing to secure the top spot in the current rankings of the professional league.
Despite playing some of their star players under minutes restriction, Jarvey Gayoso and Mark Swaintson, due to their inclusion in the previous FIFA international window, Kaya FC still put on a show and relied on its balanced offensive attack.
Lee Do-kyung and Martini Rey led the Kaya FC assault after notching four goals each while Swaintson, Gayoso, Sherwin Basindanan, Jovin Bedic, Park Yi-Young, and Marwin Angeles chipped in a goal each to complete the 14-0 romp.
It only took six minutes for the defending champions to draw first blood courtesy of a sweet conversion from Rey near the penalty area.
Two minutes after Rey’s goal, Do-kyung followed it up for Kaya FC and doubled their advantage for an early 2-0 lead.
Just when Manila Montet thought that the Iloilo rampage was done, Do-kyung once again embraced the bright lights and completed a hat-trick at the 23rd-minute mark.
With 67 minutes still left in the crucial match of the regular season, Kaya FC was already up by 4-0 and was poised for another dominant outing on the pitch.
It was then all Kaya as the other guys who entered the scoring column schooled Manila Montet, en route to one of their most one-sided wins of the ongoing PFL season so far.
With another win, Kaya FC maintained its undefeated record and improved to nine wins, no losses, and a draw.
