Filipino boxer Reymond Yanong fell early in the first round in his clash against American Genaro Gamez at the Bubble MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The PH slugger found himself in deep trouble after the much bigger Gamez was able to pin him against the ropes and landed a devastating right to the jaw which stopped the contest in the first round.
Gamez was able to clinch momentum after connecting a hard body blow to Yanong’s mid-section that slowed down the pace of the PH pug throughout the bout.
With the loss, Yanong dropped to 11-6-1 with 9 wins coming from knockout while the American Gamez improved to 10-1 with 7 knockouts.
However, Yanong will have to face possible consequences from the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) which has a rule of prohibiting a boxer from taking another fight within 45 days after a match.
Yanong last saw action on June 25 when he was able to win against Clay Burns in Las Vegas.
Just two weeks after his clash with Clay, Yanong accepted the fight against Gamez and clearly violated the 45-day rule of GAB.
