LAS VEGAS — Philippine healthcare companies secured a combined USD 79 million (approximately PHP 4.4 billion) in actual and potential sales at the 2025 HIMSS Global Health Conference and Exhibition, strengthening the country’s role as a rising player in global Healthcare Information Management Services (HIMS).
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through its Export Marketing Bureau (EMB) and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Washington, D.C., led the delegation of 10 companies to the prestigious healthcare technology event held March 3–7 in Las Vegas.
The business mission was part of the Philippine government’s Tatak Pinoy Strategy, aimed at showcasing world-class Filipino capabilities in high-growth sectors such as HIMS.
“The Philippines stands uniquely positioned to cater to the demands of the global healthcare information management sector,” said Trade Secretary Cristina A. Roque.
“Our inherent ‘culture of care,’ deeply rooted in our societal values, translates to patient-centric services,” she added.
Roque emphasized that the Philippines’ robust business process outsourcing (BPO) infrastructure enables the delivery of technically proficient services with a human touch—an increasingly vital component in global healthcare operations.
Alongside the HIMSS conference, the delegation hosted a business forum to promote the country’s investment-ready digital infrastructure, competitive workforce, and policy reforms.
DTI-EMB Director Bianca Pearl Sykimte highlighted that these strategies align with broader goals of long-term economic growth and global competitiveness.
“The Philippines’ strong economic performance and recent policy reforms reflect our commitment to empowering our private sector by fostering a competitive and business-friendly environment,” Sykimte said.
She noted that workforce development and strategic export promotion initiatives further position the Philippines to become a global leader in the HIMS sector.
Participating companies included ADEC Innovations Healthcare, Inspiro, iReply Back Office Services Inc., JBW Managed Services and Consulting, Office Symmetry, Pointwest Innovations Corporation, RCM Staff BPO, VISAYA, Wagmi Phil and Call Center Power, and WorldSource.
Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP) Board Member John Dave Dueñas reported that the sector grew to 190,000 full-time employees and generated USD 4.2 billion in revenue in 2024.
“Our blend of technical expertise and cultural empathy positions the Philippines as the preferred destination for payer, provider, and life sciences outsourcing,” Dueñas said.
“This ensures world-class patient care and seamless healthcare operations,” he added.
The business mission also featured networking sessions and site visits to U.S. healthcare facilities, helping Filipino firms better understand client needs and tailor solutions for the U.S. market.
