Philippine pride James delos Santos is inches away from claiming the no.1 rank in the world virtual kata rankings.

The prized karateka swept the three online kata tournaments he joined in just a week: The E-Champions Trophy World Series #1, the 2nd Dutch Open E-Tournament, and the Miyamoto Musashi-Five Rings E-Tournament.

Also, the championship spree delos Santos earned racked his career virtual tournament gold medals to a total of eight.

“These tournaments will add more points to the virtual kata world rankings. Still a long journey to No. 1, but I’m taking this one step at a time,” delos Santos posted on his Facebook account.

During the E-Champions Trophy World Series, delos Santos toppled Switzerland’s Domont Matias Moreno, 25.7 to 24.5.

Delos Santos’ momentum carried over heading into the Dutch Open where he outlasted Alfredo Bustamante of the United States, 25.4 to 24.7.

In his last tournament, delos Santos showed no signs of slowing down and nabbed another gold in the Miyamoto-Musashi where he defeated Brazil’s Murilo Alvarez, 25.3 to 24.5.
