Filipino lawn tennis superstar Francis Alcantara and British partner Mark Whitehouse ruled the recently concluded 2021 International Tennis Federation (ITF) $25,000 M25 Harlingen Country Club Pro Circuit Tournament in Texas, USA.
The superb duo of Alcantara and Whitehouse ousted Gabi Adrian Boitan of Romania and Constantin Frantzen of Germany in three thrilling sets, 7-6, 5-7, 10-7.
Alcantara and Whitehouse were able to establish their game strategy early on as they just outplayed the opposition both with their net defense and in the baseline attack.
Alcantara, who is famous for his quick reflexes in the net, punished Boitan and Frantzen and carried the game in the tiebreaker set.
His timely net points and his lob shots were two of their main keys to victory in the nip-and-tuck third set.
Boitan and Frantzen attempted to snowball their presence in the last set when they hit three consecutive points but Alcantara made sure there will be no disappointments as he sparked a late offensive run to help them lift the championship trophy.
After conquering the M25 ITF, Alcantara is planning to join in the upcoming ITF $25,000 Dropshot Series Men’s Pro Tennis Open in Austin, Texas.
